Minx
Minx is a solid film with an adhesive backing that is heat activated. The heat gives Minx the conformability to fit over the compound curve of a nail, and seals the film onto the nail plate. The patent-pending, proprietary material that Minx is made of can easily be removed with heat by either you or your manicurist. When applied correctly, Minx has a waterproof seal that will not release until the seal is broken. You can break the seal by lifting the edge of Minx with a fingernail, or by lifting it with an object such as an orange stick. Heat is used in order to make the adhesive easier to remove once the seal has been broken. This allows you to use warm water or a hair dryer. It’s not necessary for the heat to be constant and consistent. The longevity of Minx depends on several factors; the most important being proper application. The normal range is from one to two weeks. But, during this time, Minx does not chip, and although it may wear slightly at the free edge of nails that are heavily used, it will not wear any further. We have experienced longer wear on toes simply because we don’t do as much with our toes as we do with our hands! Minx should always be applied on dry nails so we offer a dry manicure or pedicure as part of your treatment. The overall treatment will take approximately 60 minutes. |
